The Barren County Economic Authority will be providing 10 small businesses impacted by COVID-19 Pandemic with mini grants in the amount of $250 for website development. To qualify, the business must not currently have a website or has a website, but are not capable of doing online sales transactions.
“When surveying the business community regarding their needs during this difficult time, Ecommerce and financial assistance were the top two requests.” said Maureen Carpenter, Executive Director of the Barren County Economic Authority “this program will provide immediate financial assistance to these businesses to gain an online presence to support Ecommerce and provide long-term benefits well beyond the pandemic crisis.”
The Barren County Economic Authority has arranged for special pricing for small businesses selected for this program. To receive the discounted rate, built-out templates are available that will be customized with their brand. The cost for the website is $500 plus hosting fees which can be paid over time.
Funds from the Barren County Economic Authority marketing budget are being redirected to support this critical sector of our economy, “We need to help sustain our small businesses as they are critical to our overall mission of creating and retaining jobs in Barren County” said Carpenter.
Additional assistance will be available to participants including video tutorials on how to keep the site up-to-date, how to promote the website and online sales regulations.
