GLASGOW, Ky. (October 15, 2025) – Today, Gov. Andy Beshear visited the Kingscourt, Ireland headquarters of Kingspan Group PLC, parent company of Tate Inc., where company executives confirmed plans to locate Tate’s largest North American facility in Glasgow. Tate Inc., Governor Beshear, and the Barren County Economic Authority jointly announced that the company will make the largest economic development investment and job creation in Barren County in nearly two decades.

Tate will purchase and renovate the 764,000 +/- -square-foot facility, transforming it into a state-of-the-art components manufacturing plant and represents a major step in expanding manufacturing capacity to better serve their U.S. customers and support regional economic development.

Tate, a global leader in the research, development, and manufacturing of raised access floors, airflow management, and infrastructure solutions for commercial and data center applications, will invest $61.2 million in the project. The new facility will focus primarily on data center component manufacturing and containment products to serve customers throughout the United States. Barren County successfully competed with multiple states for the project, which will create 400 new full-time jobs.

“We’re thrilled that plans to make Glasgow their new Kentucky home with the largest job creation project we’ve seen in Barren County in almost 20 years,” said Gov. Andy Beshear. “Kentucky has secured our place as a manufacturing leader with our skilled workforce and prime location, and companies across the globe are taking notice. I want to thank the leaders at Tate and Kingspan for choosing to invest here in the commonwealth, and I look forward to seeing their success and future growth.”

State and local leaders in Barren County coordinated closely with company leadership to bring Tate’s new manufacturing operation to Glasgow—its first location in Kentucky. Once fully operational, the facility will manufacture high performing thermal management and airflow solutions engineered to optimize efficiency and reliability in he most demanding of data centers.

“We’re delighted to become part of the Glasgow community”, said Daniel Kennedy, Tate’s Global President of Cloud Solutions and Innovation. “Expanding our manufacturing capabilities in rural Kentucky reflects our commitment to expand our US manufacturing footprint and the creation of high-quality jobs here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky”.

This project marks a major expansion of Tate’s U.S. operations and aligns with Kingspan Group’s broader U.S. growth strategy. Kingspan is investing $150 million in U.S. capital expenditures in 2025, following $50 million invested in 2024. Kingspan currently operates across 32 locations in 17 states, employing more than 2,350 people nationwide.

“This is a once-in-a-generation milestone for Glasgow,” said City of Glasgow Mayor Henry Royse. “The creation of 400 new jobs marks the largest economic development investment in nearly two decades, and it speaks volumes about the strength of our community. Today we celebrate not only new opportunities for our people, but also a brighter future for generations to come. We are so grateful to Tate for choosing Glasgow!”

Barren County Judge/Executive Jamie Byrd added, “This historic announcement reinforces what we have always known—that Barren County is a place where businesses can thrive and people can prosper. Four hundred new jobs means more families supported, more dreams realized, and a stronger foundation for our local economy. We are grateful to our partners who helped make this transformational investment a reality.”

“A project of this caliber is only possible through strong partnerships and teamwork,” said Maureen Carpenter, President & CEO of the Barren County Economic Authority. “We extend our sincere appreciation to the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, the City of Glasgow, Barren County Fiscal Court, TVA, the Glasgow Electric Plant Board, the Glasgow Water Company, and the local leadership of CATK for their invaluable support. Their collaboration, along with the dedication of our community partners, played a vital role in securing this investment and ensuring Tate Access Flooring’s success in Barren County. We’re ecstatic to welcome Tate Access Flooring to Glasgow and truly appreciate their decision to invest here.”
